Laughing Boy was a showcase long before it was an agency. We brought the name back and put the training behind it.

    Tapelab
Every tape is a chance you only get once. Agents and casting directors see hundreds, so don't send a tape that could be much better. Tapelab marks yours against a 30-point rubric and sends feedback in about 10 minutes, so you can tape, retape and refine before anything goes out. See how

Tapes worth sending

See what agents and casting directors see before you send them your tape.

  • AgentsSee the moments an agent would notice, with timestamps.
  • CastingKnow which moment decides your tape and what to fix first.
  • TrainingGet one thing to try next, and a monologue picked for your next tape.

Used by our actors. Developed in conjunction with some of the best acting teachers in the country. Notes come from The Unseen's 30-point rubric, built over 10 years of self-tape feedback, and your next monologue is picked from a database The Unseen team curates weekly. A human-driven process, assisted by technology.

Open Tapelab

Tapelab uses AI-assisted analysis. Anyone can use it.

Example Tapelab report: a timeline marking four moments in the tape (two working well, one to refine, one key moment), a summary of where the tape is, what it is selling and what to fix first, the kinds of roles the actor could be sent up for, one thing to try before the next tape, and a suggested next monologue.

Example report, shortened. Illustration only.
